malleolus
Malleolus is a red wine produced in O.D. Ribera de Duero. Produced in the family winery Emilio Moro, that continues to develop in a traditional way, using the knowledge inherited from generation to generation ago since its foundation more than 70 years.
The name of this wine, Malleolus, comes from the Latin word majuelo, a term used to refer to the area vineyards. A single variety of the variety Ink fine.
The grapes used for the production of Malleolus comes from the vineyard Camino Viejo. A vineyard planted in 1989, at an altitude of 890 meters above sea level, on a hillside with a steep slope. The soils are clay soils with some limestone area of concentration especially in the highest parts of the farm.
Emilio Moro making Malleolus begins with a maceration with the skins that stretches for 28 days. Once this is complete maceration, malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging for 18 months in new French Allier oak barrels.
