I get so many people asking me for a great vermouth recommendation. I suspect more and more the big brands – Yzaguirre and Miro, for example – are available outside Spain. But this one is a harder find around the world, and very special. It’s one of the first vermouths to be made in Madrid and for me it’s the perfect vermouth, blending the sweetness of the orange peel with the herbaceous bitterness that makes for a great aperitif drink. Serve on ice, with a slice of orange, along with a few snacks before lunch and it’ll get everyone’s blood running and the conversation going.
