Alceño Monastrell 12 months
It is a deep and elegant wine mainly from our oldest vineyards in the local variety Monastrell, aged for 12 months in barrels of French and American oak, where malolactic fermentation. Alceño Monastrell 12 months has a layer intense color, flavor complexes, black fruit, roasted coffee, cocoa and spices, in mouth shows great amplitude being very persistent and balanced.
Wine produced by Bodegas Alceño, a winery that was founded in 1870 by Roque Martínez, with two partners. He became the first commercial winery in Jumilla. Currently, it is the fourth generation of the family that is at the command of the winery. The climate in this area is Mediterranean semiarid I continentalizado character. It is characterized by low rainfall throughout the half year and temperatures ranging between 13ºC and 18ºC.
This wine is a blend of Monastrell (85%) and Syrah (15%) from our oldest Monastrell grape vineyards planted on calcareous soils and stony, about 600 and 800 meters above the level of the sea.
Alceño Monastrell 12 months remained four months in new French oak barrels (50%) and Americans (50%) to carry out the breeding process.
