JUAN GIL BLANCO Moscatel (Jumilla)

$28.99

You might know Juan Gil from their big bodied monastrell reds that are famous across Spain. I didn’t know they made a white until I stumbled across this fascinating little drop. It’s a dry-as-a-bone wine made from grapes grown in the Jumilla region in Murcia. Often moscatel wines are sweet or, if they’re dry, I find them a little too perfumed and overly aromatic — not this one, which is crisp, complex and ideal for an aperitif or a seafood dish.

Juan Gil white

It is a wine made from vineyards of Moscatel de Grano Menudo, located in hills with gentle slopes at an altitude of approximately 700 meters, in the valley of the Aragona which lies north of Jumilla where chalky soils, dry climate and many hours of sun exposure create an ideal microclimate for growing this variety. Juan Gil is refreshing and perfect for a good snack.
