Enate Merlot-Merlot
Enate Merlot-Merlot is a red wine from the O.D. Somontano Enate produced by the winery. This winery, one of the referents of this O.D., is located in Salas Bajas (Huesca). Hence comes this varietal Merlot. The grapes come from vineyards planted about 550-600 meters above the level of the sea. Vineyard winery, a 500ha own, is shared by the municipalities of Salas Altas, Salas Bajas, Cregenzán and Basbastro.
For processing the grapes are first de-stemmed and then a cold maceration is performed. The macerated grape alcoholic fermentation is carried out at controlled temperature. Finally the wine is aged for 14 months in barrels.
