GUÍMARO (Ribeira Sacra)

$33.99

Guímaro is a red wine made from the mencia grape, and heralding from the ancient and dramatic Ribeira Sacra region in Spain’s north western Galicia. This area is known for what’s called the “heroic harvest” as the vines are grown on almost vertical slopes above the river Sil, just as the Romans did two millennia ago. The wine is complex, with red fruit and hints of liquorice and tobacco. It’s a wine from a region that few know about outside (or inside!) of Spain, and is the ideal way to get off the beaten path and discover new Spanish wine regions.
